And just like that they are off! The riders began the 2,000km MotoNomad route, riding at their own pace – solo or in small groups. As the riders departed Khövsgöl, a mean storm was brewing. Riders tried to dodge it and shelter from the rain – with mixed success! After 60km of sealed roads, they hit the dirt and the wild Mongolian terrain they’d come for: rolling alpine grasslands, rocky riverbeds, lush valleys, river crossings, and endless dirt tracks without a fence in sight. It was pure riding heaven, with wide grins under every helmet. Thankfully the morning’s storm has quickly passed and summer temperatures are now back in full force.
