The second day started with a chilly morning and another hill climb! Riders left the Delger River and climbed steadily into the forest and up into the clouds! The riding was tough, with sections of woodlands with exposed greasy tree roots to navigate. The views at the top were worth it and the terrain then opened up all the way to the midday pit stop in the small village of Tsagaan Uul, some 80km into the day. Riders are enjoying plates of fried noodles and a Mongolian favourite, khuushuur – a deep-fried pastry with a filling of mutton – which should provide plenty of fuel to reach tonight’s camp spot!
